Colour adds impact and drama because it affects the impression of distance and depth. Depending on the overhead conditions, photos can often be 'flat' and therefore uninteresting.

Consider lifting the saturation levels to give impact OR perhaps remove colour altogether and create a monochrome. This can be most effective if the photo has distinct gradations between the blacks and highlights.
